How to Copy Course Content from a Blackboard Original Course to a Blackboard Ultra Course

How to Copy Course Content from a Blackboard Original Course to a Blackboard Ultra Course

From Original to Ultra:
  1. From the Blackboard landing page, navigate to the course that you would like to copy.
  2. Within the course, scroll down the page until you reach the "Course Management" section.
  3. Within the "Course Management" you will need to find the "Packages and Utilities" portion.
  4. Clicking on the "Packages and Utilities" option will open a dropdown menu.
  5. Within the dropdown menu, click on the "Export/Archive Course" option.
  6. Click on the "Export Package" button.
  7. For the radio buttons that are near the top of the page, make sure that both bottom buttons are picked. The buttons should already be picked by default, but it never hurts to double check.
  8. Scroll down to the "Select Course Materials" area of the page.
  9. Click on the "Select All" button.
  10. Click on the "Submit" button. This can be found on the lower right side of the browser window. This will prepare everything that is needed in order to copy a course.
  11. Depending on the size of the file, you may have to hit the "Refresh" button on the page a few times before the file appears.
  12. Once the file appears, download the file.
  13. Now go to the course that the file will be copied into. This is also known as the "destination" or "target" course.
  14. Within the target course content page, click on the three horizontal black dots that are located near the top right side of the window, right underneath the course image.
  15. Once you click on the three dots, a dropdown menu will appear. Click on the "Import Content" option.
  16. A file explorer window will appear. Find the downloaded file and upload it to the Ultra course.
  17. Ultra will take care of uploading and converting the file. This may take some time for the servers to do.
  18. Once the conversion is finished, now all that is left to do is make the needed changes to the course.
